Apprenticeships - Wales

Apprenticeships are Government-backed, work-based training Frameworks specifically tailored to meet the skills needs of employers.

Improve has developed the Improve Proficiency Apprenticeship (IPA) in Food and Drink that meets the governments requirements for Apprenticeships in Wales and the needs of employers in Food and Drink industries.

It supports the fast moving and dynamic world of food and drink and ensures apprentices gain opportunity for both on-and-off the-job learning. The IPA includes the Foundation Apprenticeship (level 2), the Apprenticeship (level 3) and the Higher Apprenticeship (level 4).

Framework

Apprenticeship Frameworks are the components, required by legislation that make up an Apprenticeship structure. A copy of the full version of the Framework along with an abridged version of the Framework content can be found in this section under ‘Frameworks’.Alternatively this can be found on the Apprenticeships Frameworks Online (AFO)
http://www.afo.sscalliance.org

Learners commencing apprenticeships will need to be registered with Improve Ltd within eight weeks of commencing their Apprenticeship Programme. Improve is investigating the implementation of ‘IPA Online’ which would allow apprenticeship providers direct access to a registration system. As an expedient please email (Lauran.Agar@improveltd.co.uk) with names of apprentices to be registered. Please note that the registration fee will be raised at the time of registration.
