Apprenticeships - England

Apprenticeships are Government-backed, work-based training Frameworks specifically tailored to meet the skills needs of employers.

Improve has developed the Improve Proficiency Apprenticeship (IPA) in Food and Drink that meets the governments requirements for Apprenticeships in England and the needs of employers in Food and Drink Industry.

It supports the fast moving and dynamic world of food and drink and ensures apprentices gain opportunity for both on-and-off the job learning. The IPA includes the Intermediate Apprenticeship (level 2), the Advanced Apprenticeship (level 3) and the Higher Apprenticeship (level 4).

Frameworks

The Framework gives details of the components and requirements of the Apprenticeship needed by law in order for the Apprenticeship to be ‘recognised’ in England. A copy of the full version of the Framework along with an abridged version can be found in this section under ‘Frameworks’. Alternatively full details of the Framework can be found on the Apprenticeships Frameworks Online (AFO) website:
http://www.afo.sscalliance.org

For learners commencing Food and Drink Apprenticeships it is preferred that they are registered with Improve Ltd within eight weeks of commencing their apprenticeship Programme. To gain access to ACE you will need to register on the ACE website http://ace.apprenticeships.org.uk/ and to contact Sally Jenkins when this is done for your password access, sally.jenkins@improveltd.co.uk. Certification evidence documents can be downloaded from the Documents section.

The time it takes for certification to be processed in England is 10 working days.
