Apprenticeships are the ideal way for learners to train for whilst still in full time employment.
Utilising extensive employer feedback and National Occupational Standards, Improve have developed a number of frameworks for Apprenticeships in food and drink which are ideal for the industry.
In England, Wales the Improve Proficiency Apprenticeship (IPA) is available for businesses across number of sectors in the industry . The main benefit of the IPA is its flexibility. Learners not only learn how to undertake a task but why. It is also possible for an employee to learn how to run a piece of machinery and know what may be wrong with it if it were to break down, saving money and time in the process.
In Scotland the Modern Apprenticeships for Food Manufacture frameworks offer a similar amount of flexibility and have so far been a huge success. Northern Ireland has a QCF based framework which is also based on proficiency qualifications.
